4. Prof. Kathryn Sklar was one of the trailblazers in womens history. She examined the life an ordinary women who made a huge impact on society through their reform work, particularly at Chicagos Hull House in the 1890s: Jane Addams, Ellen Gates Starr and Florence Kelley. Kelley would go on to form the Children’s Bureau, which would make the welfare of children a government and reform priority during a time when children were highly exploited.
