Steps:
1. For this discussion, share with each other some of your great interviewing experiences – this can be as the interviewer or interviewee or both. Think of various scenarios, questions and answer sessions, panel interviews, etc. What went well? Was it a particular company’s selection process? Was it a specific interview question? An effective interview test? Was there a certain time when everything just clicked? Why?
2. Also, think of those not-so-great experiences tied to interviewing for a position – again as the interviewer or interviewee or both. What happened and why? Was there a disconnect, poor or inappropriate interview questions, unprepared interviewers or interviewees, irrelevant employment tests…? Be specific, but do not name names if you are discussing negative situations.
3. Choose at least one positive experience and one negative experience. Detail what occurred in 2 – 4 paragraphs. What did you learn about interviewing methods from both the positive and negative experiences?
4. Your original post and your response to at least one of your classmates are worth 30 points and are due October 18.
(Reference: My Nike interview as a part-time athlete went well, and my interview with a restaurant years ago was not too well.) Thank you!
