5-6 pages, not including Works Cited Page
You will choose your own topic, but keep in mind you must be able to find research about it in an
academic database and that is must be debatable. This means there will be two reasonable sides to
this issue that people could argue.
This is a persuasive essay. You will choose a side of the debate, present your side in the thesis
statement and a reason to agree with you in each body paragraph.
MLA style formatting (Times New Roman, 12 pt, double space, etc.)
Research Requirements
Research required- at least 4 credible sources. But you may have more if you wish.
2 of your sources MUST be from Gateways library databases.
The remaining 2 can also be from the databases, or you can use sources outside of the database, such
as websites, books, documentaries, or interviews.
Must have research/citations in every body paragraph.
Needs a correctly formatted Works Cited page
