In literary studies, a theme is a central topic, subject, or message within a narrative. Themes can be divided into two categories: a work’s thematic concept is what readers “think the work is about” and its thematic statement being “what the work says about the subject”
For this essay, pick one primary theme to closely read in Persepolis and use textual support to argue your perspective. You may use articles that we have discussed in the class to enhance your analysis of Persepolis. Your paper must be well-argued, well-supported and between 4-5 double-spaced pages. Please follow the MLA format and include the images that you will be referring to in your papers appendix. Also include a Works Cited page.
